AMPLIFIED 2015 | Exodus 12:15 '[In the celebration of the Passover in future years,] seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, but on the first day you shall remove the leaven from your houses [because it represents the spread of sin]; for whoever eats leavened bread on the first day through the seventh day, that person shall be cut off and excluded from [the atonement made for] Israel. |
Bible Question: according to the Bible what does cut off mean Ex 12":15 |
Bible Answer: Greetings Elder. I read your question last PM and have thought long on this. After reveiwing other instances of these words in Scripture, I see two things. First of all, the grave and serious response of God to sin and secondly, the penalty for sin that was laid upon Jesus. (Dan 9:26; 2 Cor 5:21) I hope that this brings a sense of praise and thnaksgiving to you as you recall God's marvelous gift of Grace today, for "Therefore there is now no condemnation (no cutting off!) for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1 Blessings, mommapbs |
