Bible Question: In reference to John 6:40,how is it mankind not find and know the will of God and have hope? |
Bible Answer: Biblical The answer is in the verse. John 6:40 (NKJV) 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day." "Everyone that sees the Son and believes in Him" There are many that refuse to see the Son and even more that refuse to believe. In both instances it requires faith, faith to see that which is not before you, and faith to believe in that you can not see. People refuse to see Jesus because they focus on the things of this world (lust of the eyes). And they refuse to believe because they think their works are sufficient (pride of life)also because to believe would require obedience and they don't want to yield their will. (lust of the flesh) 1 John 2:16 (NASB) 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
