Bible Question: I was talking to my sister today and she said that the bible says that if you die before 70, then it wasn't God's Will. I am confused she also made a reference to a well-known preacher refering to that as well. I for one have not heard such a thing, so I am trying to just ask. She is implying that we choose how long we live. |
Bible Answer: The preacher to whom your sister referred may be well known but it is clear that he is not well versed, at least not about his understanding of things such as God's will and man's longevity. If your sister, having listening to this obvious crackpot, is implying that we choose how long we live, ask her whether we also choose to be born, and when, and of which gender, and by what parents. Please! Let's move out of the way and allow a little room for God's sovereignty! ..... P. S. Shhh, don't tell, but God is sovereign whether we want Him to be or not. --Hank |
