Subject: Boasting: Blowing or tooting...? |
Bible Note: Hi Emmaus, Even though the message is the same I believe that it is important to determine who is speaking in Psalm 75:4, NASB. And even though Paul was speaking the word of God in 2 Cor 10:17 and God used him to get the message across, it is still God who is the Judge and He puts down one, and exalts another and it is the Lord who commends. Psalm 75:7, NASB, "But God is the **Judge; He/ puts down one, and exalts another." 2 Cor 10:17, "But HE WHO BOASTS, LET HIM BOAST IN THE **LORD. For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord/ commends." Stars ** and slashes are mine for comparison. Luke 1:51b, "...**He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart. 52 He/ has brought down rulers from their thrones, And has exalted those who were humble." See Psalm 75:7 above: God judges the thoughts of our hearts. Are we boasting in the Lord? 1 Samuel 2:9b, "But the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; for not by might shall a man prevail. 10 Those who contend with the Lord will be shattered; Against them **He will thunder in the heavens, The Lord/ will judge the ends of the earth;..." Jeremiah 9:23, "Thus says the **Lord, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; 24 but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me,/..." That is how I see it. From the heart, Ray |
