Bible Answer: In the passage John 19:28 Christ's words, "I thirst," are best understood in their plain sense, simply meaning that He experienced physical thirst which was doubtlessly intensified by the agony of His crucifixion. In other passages of Scripture "thirst" is used metaphorically but not in this one. --Hank |
