Bible Question:
Hi I am new to the forum, but I need to know something. I have heard many people say "the bible says come as you are". Can any one help me out here. Is that really in the bible? I have looked and I can not find it. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place. |
Bible Answer: Good afternoon, I have not read specifically in the bible where is states "come as you are", however remember before you became born again. You were operating in a sinful lifestyle. When you came to know Jesus, you did not have to be perfect. You do not have to make 1,000 things right in your life before you come to know Jesus. You came to him as you were so he could clean you up and show you how to maintain your salvation by becoming rootedngrounded in his word. Read Psalms 51, especially verse 2. It will back up what I am saying. Look at different translations such as king james, message, amplified, etc. I would also encourage you to do a word search on the word clean. There are other scriptures in the bible of how we were made clean through Jesus' blood. Romans 5:9 can also explain how we were MADE righteous through the blood of Jesus. This also means when we become born again we are now in right standing with God. I hope this helps some. |
