Bible Question: Looking for verses about how God restores to us what the devil has stolen from us? Is their any that says that? Where are they? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Spiritedfilly, Perhaps the single best set of verses that speak of restoring a Christian's spirit after falling to sin is found in Psalm 51:12. Psalm 51:10-13 gives us an excellent picture of the grief and pain in the heart of a sinful man when sin can no longer be ignored in our life. We cry out to the Lord in desperation, asking him to renew our hearts and to restore our joy. We desire to be "clean" so much so, that we will then go and teach other "transgressors" of the deliverance of the Lord, and they will also be converted to Him. Psalm 23:3 speaks of the Lord restoring our souls. Psalm 80:3 speaks of restoring in a plural, communitive sense. As for possessions and the things of this earth, probably the single best book to look to would be the Book of Job. As you read, Satan challenged the Lord in the early going, daring that Job would curse God if he took this, and that, and that, and then that away from him.. But Job remained steadfast in his devotion, and was restored two-fold in all that Satan took from him (Job 42:10). But there is no stated "Guarantee" in the Bible that decrees that the Lord will restore to us everything that is "stolen away" from us, even though we are promised "heavenly" provisions for what we lose on account of God's calling and following Him.
