Bible Question:
Can anyone suggest any passages for help in coping with illness and disaster. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you |
Bible Answer: How about these: Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. (Psalms 34:19) It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. (Psalms 119:71) In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him. (Ecclesiastes 7:14) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:16-18) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. (1 Peter 4:12-13) I also find Hebrews 12 to be a great comfort in difficult times. In Him, Doc |
