Bible Question:
Hello Everyone, my name is LeAnna, My question is on the word 'wait' used in this Scripture...I looked it up in Strong's and the definition was stillness, quiet, and trust. How do we hone the skill of silently waiting on the LORD?? Is it something that happens as we grow in the Truth or an attribute that the Holy Spirit builds in us?? I ask because I am a new Christian, and I find it hard to wait for things. But I want to live and walk in God's ways. So, can anyone help me with this question? Thanks! LeAnna |
Bible Answer: Hello LeAnna, I am new to this forum, but your question resonates with me. I think God responds to us in many ways in our daily lives and if we spend some time in silence rather than in pursuing outer activities, we begin to realize we are getting responses. It comes in many ways. You may think of something you want or pray for something you need....and in a little while you get it. I think of God when that happens and express gratitude. You may see a rainbow and it touches your heart. God created the rainbow, right? I think the silence and stillness helps. Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God." |
