Bible Question:
A member of our church is dying. She is 88 years old and has had a full life, she is at peace and is a believer. I am new to the Christian faith. I would like to visit her and read the Bible with her, while she still has the strength to see visitors. As I am not yet familiar with the Bible and relevant passages, could you please recommend some Psalms and other passages that would be particularly helpful and would add to her sense of peace and "coming home" to be with Jesus. -Thank you |
Bible Answer: Lily's Mom: God bless you in the time you spend comforting your friend. I would suggest you begin with the following Scripture passages, which appear here in no particular order. Psalm 23; Hosea 13:14; 1 Cor 15:55; Prov 14:32; Rom 5:9; Heb 2:14-15; John 8:51; Psalm 48:14; Psalm 73:26; Psalm 49:15; Isa 25:8; Psalm 37:37; 2 Cor 4:16; John 3:15; Rom 8:38-39. I hope you find these Scriptures helpful. --JVH0212 |
