Bible Question (short): Questions about being Saved |
Question (full): Okay, I've been studying the bible on and off for a couple of years. To much of my disappointment, I have wavered back and forth with my faith. I do have two questions that make me stay up at night: Question 1 While Jesus was on the cross he screamed out "My God, My God, why has thou forsaken me?" If Jesus was part of the Holy Trinity (not at the time until his holy spirit was blessed upon us with his death) why did he scream that out when he WAS God. Question 2: I read in Ephesians Chapter 1 that God saves only those who he wants to save. This was predetermined before the start of the world according to the passage below. 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,..." How is it then that people can be "saved" by accepting Jesus when those who he wants to save have already been saved. |
