Bible Question: Is the Devil able to read a christians mind? What is the scriptural ref. |
Bible Answer: FWH, Satan is a fallen angel: Jud 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Angels watch over us: Heb 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Satan is powerful: Jud 1:9 Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. Only God knows your thoughts: Psa 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: Isa 66:18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory. Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: But Satan does keep track of us: Job 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. Mat 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Mat 12:44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. As God the Father has many angels watching us and ministering to us so Satan watches. Though he can not read our minds he is aware of what can turn us toward sin. He has seen how we respond to various weaknesses and knows how to temp us. And that is why God says, Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
