Bible Question: Explain "fearfully and wonderfully made" |
Bible Answer: Greetings jasonykl! The Zondervan NASB Study Bible states, "139:14 fearfully...wonderfully...Wonderful. You know me as the One who formed me (see vv. 15-16), but I cannot begin to comprehend this creature You have fashioned. I can only look upon him with awe and wonder." * "Yours is a "wonder" knowledge, beyond my human capacity- and praise you (Eccl. 11:5)." (*) taken from Psalm 139:6. I would say that the meaning of "fearfully" is parallel to the meaning of 'awesome wonder' in Psalm 8. Blessings to you, Makarios |
