Bible Question: compare and contrast the call of jeremiah with Moses? |
Bible Answer: Hi phs2076, Welcome to the forum. See also the answer I gave you to your Exodus 3:2 question. The prophet Jeremiah showed that he wasn't anxious to answer the call by saying "I do not know how to speak because I am a youth". Moses answered the call by saying that he did not speak well. But God says that "(I) am able to deliver." Jeremiah 1:5, "Before (I) formed you in the womb, I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:7, "But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, 'I am a youth,' Because everywhere I send you, you shall go, And all that I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of them, For (I) am with you to deliver you," declares the Lord." Exodus 3:13, "Then Moses said to God, "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I shall say to them, 'The (God) of your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?" God is the One who is able, being the one true God. The parentheses are mine for comparison. From the heart, Ray |
