Subject: What is a weaned soul? |
Bible Note: Hi Tim, That was a very helpful answer. The weaned soul is content with what he or she has in life. We have enough to live now by ourselves; not dependent on parents. We hope in the Lord from the time of weaning, and that is enough. We are glad in the Lord and we hope in the Lord. I was looking also at the Psalm before your reference. Not only do we hope in the Lord, but also in His/ word. Psalm 130:5, "I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, And in [Lit. for] His word do I hope." Psalm 64:10, "The righteous man will be glad in the Lord, and will take refuge in (Him); And all the upright in heart will glory." Psalm 65:4, "How blessed is the one whom Thou dost choose, and bring near to Thee, To dwell in (Thy) courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Thy house, Thy holy temple." Psalm 132:5, "I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids; Until I find a place for the (Lord), A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob." 1 Cor 3:16, "Do you not know that you are a temple of (God), and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" To whom shall we go for the word that we hope for? John 6:68, "Lord/, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." From the heart, Ray |
