Subject: NT canon in 1st century or 350 AD? |
Bible Note: Hi Tamara, 1. Marcion compiled a canon with his own edited version of Luke and Paul's writings--none others. 2. The Muratorian Fragment is the earliest known list of the canonical NT and dates to about A.D. 170. 3. Yes, there was some disagreement (certainly not "ongoing argumentation") among the church fathers. The material written by apostles was readily accepted. And nobody disagreed that the questioned material was important and beneficial for church life and Christian conduct. Hope this helps. Sorry I was unavailable until now. My wife and I went camping.
