Bible Question:
Is it considered being double minded when you act Christ like one minute and in the drop of a dime, turn around and act unchrist like? What do you think? If yes, why? If no, why? |
Bible Answer: Lovefountain, James 1:2-8 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. KJV NT:1374 dipsuchos (dip'-soo-khos); from NT:1364 and NT:5590; two-spirited, i.e. vacillating (in opinion or purpose): KJV - double minded. The word to vacillate in the Websters encyclopedia of dictionaries is rendered: to move to and fro; to waver; to be unsteady; to flucuate in opinion. In my opinion this is saying that we are constantly being tempted by the adversary in our flesh. If we continue in seeking The Father in prayer and in the word asking for his wisdom, not the wisdom of this world. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. We will never be exempt from satan's devices, but we have the victory through the true word, the true messiah, the spoken word. Mark 4:15 15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts. You see he is constantly trying to take the word out our hearts. DON'T LET HIM!!!! KJV 1 Cor 1:20 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? KJV 1 Cor 1:27-31 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. KJV Keep your chin up, The Living Water (the Father) knows our hearts. Luke 16:15 15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. KJV the Father knows we struggle, but it's ok as long as we don't let our fleshly nature take over, wouldn't you agree?
