AMPLIFIED 2015 | Psalm 119:11 Your word I have treasured and stored in my heart, That I may not sin against You. |
Bible Question: I'm sure this has been posted hundreds of times...How does one resist/fight temptation? I can quote verse after verse in my head and my heart til I'm blue in the face...and yet, the sin rears it's ugly head...HELP! |
Bible Answer: This in my opinion, is where it becomes faith vs. knowledge. Just as the Pharisees had knowledge of the Law, they did not have a heart for God. When I sin it is because I have chosen to listen to my passions instead of trusting God. If I trusted God fully at that moment, I would believe all things are possible and would be able to resist temptation. When I fall short it is because I rely on my knowledge. I can make it work or do it better. I have become a Pharisee, in that I know the Law but do not have it in my heart. All miracles occur when trust is placed before action. |
