Bible Question:
Please share something spiritual that you learned today from the Holy Spirit with Scripture. Bless you, Love Fountain |
Bible Answer: Hi Love Fountain, Your question brings to mind the idea I have that the Holy Spirit is not only the third Person of the Trinity, but is also the power from on high. It is what I think of when I read in Scripture of being filled with the holy spirit. It is that special gift that you have received when studying the Scriptures. I believe that the Holy Spirit gives us holy spirit and allows us to combine spiritual words with spiritual thoughts. Consider Matthew 7:11, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE shall your Father who is in heaven GIVE WHAT IS GOOD to those who ask Him? Compare Luke 11:13, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, HOW MUCH MORE shall your heavenly Father GIVE THE holy spirit to those who ask (Him)?" Can you see the comparison of giving what is good and giving the holy spirit? Luke 12:27,28, "Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these. But if God so arrays the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, HOW MUCH MORE will (He) clothe you, O men of little faith." Matthew 6:28,29, "And why are you anxious about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet (I) say to you that even Solomon in all his glory did not clothe himself like one of these." Your heavenly Father knows that we need all these things, but He has chosen gladly to give us the kingdom. He has many spiritual things to impart to us when we seek first His kingdom. I just now compared our verse Psalm 119:11, "Thy word I have treasured in my heart..." with Luke 12:34, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." What a treasure the word of God is! From the heart, Ray |
