Bible Question:
This is also a prophecy about the return of Christ, as far as I understand. This psalm is like a part of the book of Revelation to me. Another question based on this psalm for me is, who is Melchizedek? Was he human, or an angel? Why he has the order of priesthood and not Christ? ("Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually." Heb.7.3) |
Bible Answer: Hello Nextman, Ps. 110:4 takes us back to Gen 14:18-20, where we read in vs. 18, " And Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; now he was a priest of God Most High." (NASB) Form this we do know "he was a priest of God". Beyond that very little is said of him in scripture. Heb. 7:3 tells us, " Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually." I hope this helps, BradK |
