Bible Question:
Saints, Is God fair? I often hear righteous equated with fair. However, I perceive that that our Lord is often 'not fair,' not only from the world's point of view, but even from the believer's as well. Explain the difference, please. (Please, I know that God is 'beautiful') In Christ Jesus, charis |
Bible Answer: A casual observer would have to concede that God is often not "fair" by any human definition of fairness. God requires justice and that often over rides fair play. From God's point of view was it fair to send His son to the cross? No! but God's own Laws demanded payment for sin. Was is fair of God to allow Job to suffer the way he did? Again one would have to say NO. We have to look beyond the event and try and see what God is doing.
