Bible Question: I want to know where is it in the bible particularly stating that a single catholic man cannot be married with a divorced single mother catholic woman. According to my parents, even if she's divorced, i cannot marry her. Here are the details, she's a single mother was married according to catholic custom. Then after her son was born her husband left her for few years and the next thing she knows after 6 years her husband converted to islam. Now it has been 9 years does this means they are still husband and wife in christ. I love this woman but my parents are againts our relationship and as for me, i believe i am not comitting a sin in saving 2 innocent lives. A mother and a son. Once again, can we be married in a church blessed and witnessed by the priest. |
Bible Answer: Hi, If you read psalm 103:12, you will find a verse that has a common theme through out the bible, as far as the east is from the west, so are our transgressions from us..., if you and the woman you love are both unmarried and you pray and seek the lord, you may marry, the fact that your parents will not forgive her divorce (sounds like it wasn't her decision to get divorced regardless), is, fortunately, not what Jesus would do, the bible says when we ask Christ into our hearts, and ask him for forgiveness he not only forgives our sins, but forgets them. that is the Good news !!! You and your loved one will get a fresh start! If God is the center of your relationship, then you will be nothing but blessed, I am an example of that, please don't listen to what people say, read His word and study upon it and then you will know his will for you. |
