Bible Question:
Blessed , explained as happy such as in ps 1:1, it seems to me there is more to blessed ? |
Bible Answer: "blessed" certainly means far more than just being emotionally high or happy as ordinary non-Christians and nominal Christians? see it. it means, in my reading, you have an unfading happiness lasting unto and ushering powerfully upon your life, Eternity, far more than the super feeling when you drink a Coca-Cola :) and have to keep drinking it when you're down to regain that high :( "blessed" means Hopefully, as a spiritual Christian walking in the footsteps of Christ my Mentor-Guide-Director-Conductor who i aim to make one day be fully my Lord (over every situation, circumstance and impulse), i will be more and more conscious of His Favour-Power overshadowing me the way it did Mary mother of Jesus Christ Mary's pregnancy caused terrific suspicion and ridicule from outsiders. Many Bible scholars agree that Mary was but a teenager when she was committed for later marriage to Joseph. Yet even before she formally married Joseph her pregnancy ballooned. Despite all the hoo-has circulating around everywhere about her, she had an unfading happiness that powered forth an emotionally-charged fullness in her Magnificat song in the gospel- (Luke 1:46-55)- She was, in her own words, a maiden-servant of the Lord. This was far more important to her than what everyone around her joked with wrongful misjudgment about her pregnancy. God honoured Mary's faith and delivered her baby, Jesus Christ from Herod's order to kill all of his age, and furthermore in a powerful spiritually Revelatory irony, later, in his ministry to come, to elevate 'n' propel to Heavenly Awareness (the Gospels) and Glorious Power (the Acts of the Apostles) totally unmotivated people who saw nothing AT ALL in their jobs and daily routine, and even their own families and relatives and friends, nothing at all in their lives or their religion as it was presented in their day (does that apply to you and me and all here) :D These disciples of Jesus Christ, because they saw nothing in the all-too-many sinners everywhere around them and even the sinful way religion was taught, preached and practiced in their (our?) day, chose to follow Jesus either at first sight or after some deliberation because they saw him as a NEW POWER-Exposer/Exploder-Revealer-Teacher!!; even as a Magician sending forth strong waves of excitement (my reading of the word, Lo! in KJV Matthew 24:23; Matthew 28:20) :) The people who chose to follow Jesus even as disciples saw everyone else but as Psalm 1 put aptly "ungodly planners and advisers", "sinner-walker-(zombies!!)", "scornful-mockers" who provided ""peace""" (implied, the unspiritual sort) The disciples of Jesus who left everything, jobs, friends, colleagues, their own families, religion-of-the-day, in short, boring meaningless life to follow Jesus and only Him were "how Blessed" :) i will allow anyone to quote any of the above without having to seek my permission provided he quotes my name: Quote the full chunk below, in " " "Copyright 2005 Terence B.
