Bible Question:
I am just starting to read the Bible and find the Book of Job quite appealing to me. But I somehow got a bit confused about what God what to tell Job through all the 42 chapters? What is the Book of Job trying to tell us? |
Bible Answer: Dear swcn, Welcome to the forum. You may want to go to the below link for further commentary. However, before you do so, I would suggest you read again and again the whole book of job for grasping the idea. http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/job/mhc/jobintro.htm In brief, I would like to share what I have learnt from the book. 1/ Nothing that we have experienced is apart from God's will. God is all sovereign. (Ch 1:12) 2/ Yet, we (His children) are under His protection. (Ch 2:6) 3/ Job is an example for us to remain faithful to God in spite of all the affliction faced. (Ch 1:21-22) 4/ Job is a man who always introspects himself. (Ch 1:5, and his conversation with his 3 friends) 5/ All the materials (prosperity, family, fame etc.)are not the utmost blessings. They are just vanity (Ch 42:5a) when comparing the Lord our God Himself (Ch 42:5b). Only after his experiencing all the affliction and suffer, Job truly sees God thus remembers of his role and repents. (Ch 42:6) Just my 2 cents. I believe when I study the book again, I will learn more. Shalom Azure |
