Bible Question: What number of years is there for each generation? |
Bible Answer: Generation has been defined as "the average span of time between the birth of parents and that of their offspring" (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary). Reality would suggest that on average 70 years do not elapse between the birth of parents and that of their offspring. A much more realistic figure would be approximately 30-40 years. However, according to both the Bible and current U.S. statistics, an average LIFE SPAN equals approximately 70 years. "As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years,..." (NASB Psalm 90:10a). |
