Bible Note: Christian24: I'd like to critique your post by way of asking a few questions and offering a few observations if I may. What is "God's time"? God is eternal and the creator of all things including time. Is He bound by His own creation? Did God inspire Scripture to be used solely as His own personal diary of sorts, or did He inspire it through human authors who wrote His divine message in human language for the purpose of revealing Himself to human beings? Is there any reason, therefore, to presume that the Scriptures don't mean what they say? And notwithstanding what the "history books" may say, is there enough scriptural evidence to lead one to conclude that Job's behemoth was an elephant to the exclusion of any other possibility? If one interprets the 6 days of creation as being "God's time" (whatever that means), and therefore could mean 6 days or 6 million years, one must use the same calculator when reckoning the time Jesus was in the tomb. Scripture says He arose on the third day, but since this was as much "God's time" as the time of creation was, the "third day" could just as well have meant the third week or the third year or the third anything: take your choice. Christian24, now I ask you, "Honestly, does it make sense that God who inspired the sacred Scriptures in order to reveal His eternal truth to man would begin His revealed word of truth with a series of myths, conundrums, riddles, symbolisms and fables? Or is it just possible that what He told us about creation, including the time frame, is truth? --Hank |
