Bible Question: Does God cause the weather and does He control the weather? |
Bible Answer: Yes God causes the weather and God does control it. Exodus 9:29 29 So Moses said to him, "As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands to the LORD; the thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, that you may know that the earth is the LORD s. Deuteronomy 10:14 14 "Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the LORD your God, also the earth with all that is in it. Psalm 103:19 The LORD has established His throne in heaven, And His kingdom rules over all. Psalm 115:3 But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases. Psalm 135:5-6 For I know that the LORD is great, And our Lord is above all gods. 6Whatever the LORD pleases He does, In heaven and in earth, In the seas and in all deep places. Genesis 2:5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; Job 9:7 He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the stars; Job 26:7-8 He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth on nothing. 8He binds up the water in His thick clouds, Yet the clouds are not broken under it. Job 28:24-27 For He looks to the ends of the earth, And sees under the whole heavens, 25To establish a weight for the wind, And apportion the waters by measure. 26When He made a law for the rain, And a path for the thunderbolt, 27Then He saw wisdom and declared it; He prepared it, indeed, He searched it out. Job 36:27-33 For He draws up drops of water, Which distill as rain from the mist, 28Which the clouds drop down And pour abundantly on man. 29Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His canopy? 30Look, He scatters his light upon it, And covers the depths of the sea. 31For by these He judges the peoples; He gives food in abundance. 32He covers His hands with lightning, And commands it to strike. 33His thunder declares it, The cattle also, concerning the rising storm. Job 37:6-13 For He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth'; Likewise to the gentle rain and the heavy rain of His strength. 7He seals the hand of every man, That all men may know His work. 8The beasts go into dens, And remain in their lairs. 9From the chamber of the south comes the whirlwind, And cold from the scattering winds of the north. 10By the breath of God ice is given, And the broad waters are frozen. 11Also with moisture He saturates the thick clouds; He scatters His bright clouds. 12And they swirl about, being turned by His guidance, That they may do whatever He commands them On the face of the whole earth. 13He causes it to come, Whether for correction, Or for His land, Or for mercy. Mark 4:37-39 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" 39Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. EdB |
