Bible Question: To what extent should Christians, individually or collectively as the church, be active in national and world affairs and issues -- such as political, economic, social, moral and ethical? What guidance does the Bible give us on this topic? --Hank |
Bible Answer: Greetings Hank! I believe that we must be very active and as visible as the Holy Spirit will allow us to be in our dealings with society. Too many times we here of the 'failings' of national leaders or of people who are in high prestige. Would you rather that anyone but a true born again Christian should inhabit these offices of high prestige or influence? For what if God had elected some of us to attain royalty for such a time as this? (Esther 4:14) If you look at Israel's history of Kings, you see a 'devout' king leading the nation back to God, while those kings who are full of sin lead the nation into idolatry and every evil practice.. We need Christians at the helm so that we can rest assured that our country will see a brighter tomorrow! Yes!! Christians must be very active and visible to set the example and lead this country into a nationwide revival for God! --Nolan |
