AMPLIFIED 2015 | Esther 2:15 ¶ Now as for Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai who had taken her in as his [own] daughter, when her turn came to go in to the king, she requested nothing except what Hegai the king's eunuch [and attendant] who was in charge of the women, advised. And Esther found favor in the sight of all who saw her. |
Bible Question: Was Mordechai Ester's cousin or uncle? I am reading both on the net. And one site said that she even ended up marrying him? |
Bible Answer: Susan66, This just goes to show that you cannot trust what you find on the internet, and you can find nearly anything. Whenever in doubt, simply see what God's word has to say. As you can see here, The King James Version says the same thing as the NASB or the Amplified. Here is the KJV as well. Tim Est 2:15 Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. |
