Bible Question:
Apologies if this question has already been asked; I've done a few searches and am overwhelmed at what I am finding. Problem is, I still don't think I have the answer I am seeking. With that being said, I guess I am looking for a confirmation that I am understanding this correctly... 2Timothy 4 references the fact that Jesus will judge the living and the dead when He returns to set up His Kingdom on earth. I understand that. What I do not understand is, who are the 'dead' that are being judged? Is it the unfaithful? Aren't we ALL judged when we die? Is this how we get to the 'Second death' referenced in Revelation 20? If the judging of the dead is only applicable to the unfaithful, then it is correct to understand that Christ-followers go to Heaven at their time of death, right? They will not be judged again, right? There would be no reason... am I understanding this correctly? Thanks in advance for your insights! |
Bible Answer: The unsaved dead are in hades a place of torment at the time spoken of in rev 20: 12 they are standing before the Judge for final sentencing. They have already be found guilty at that time they will be cast into the lake of fire. |
