Subject: Who is the Bride of Christ? |
Bible Note: RCSCROLL: I find your thoughts interesting. What you say is true, Darby came up with the dispensional view, and Scofield brought the theory even further. I too am a admirer of Hank Hanegraaff's ministry, and his carring on after Dr. Martin went to be with the Lord. Hank has taken a responsible position to bring to light that the "left behind" theology is questionable. I have said that if there was no book of Revelation a few author's who pump out this "left behind" series of massed produced, fiction and some Biblical truth, might starve to death. How many more in the "left behind" books do you think they can come up with? As a personal note of my belief, I take Matthew 24, and find Jesus has very adequately presented the signs of His return, and how we are to be ready. I think it is rather bold to think we can project the exact 7 years, and other events, when Jesus said that ONLY the FATHER knows! What causes me concern, is so many people have missed the joy of sharing, living in Christ's love for us. Instead they are making converts to Christ based on fear! In 1 John 4:18 " There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love." That sums up my thinking quite well. I enjoy your willingness to bring thinking "outside the box" to the forum. Blessings to you. justme |
