Bible Question:
Rev.20:12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, *and books were opened*; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; *and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds*. What are those other books (obviously containing all the people's deeds) for, if the Book Of Life (containing everybody's names *from the foundation of the world* who will enter the new Jerusalem together with God and the Lamb) is the only book that counts? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, Frank. I have long believed that the "other books" were the 66 books of the Bible. Men cannot be judged by that which was not given to them to live by. Every deed and every idle word shall be brought into judgment. I believe the Bible teaches that only the "unrighteous" will be brought to stand before this great white throne of judgment. Here, as they stand before Jesus Christ and all the opened books of the Bible, I believe that they will clearly be shown to be without excuse. I'm sure there are many different opinions on this one. It will be interesting and edifying to see the answers to this question. Kind regards, Tim D. Cormier Tennessee Preacher |
