Bible Question: Does anyone here consider the Exodus generation as believers? In our study of Hebrews, I am having a hard time.... I believe they were and therefore I consider most of the difficult questions in Hebrews as pertaining to our sanctification not salvation. I'm not wanting to get into a huge debate; just would like some feedback. I have a feeling I'm in the minority. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Hebrews 4, 11; Eph 2:8-9 ... Jatfla, the Exodus generation as a whole weren't saved. Neither are citizens of the USA. That isn't was saves us or saved them. It is faith, by grace that saves (Eph 2:8-9). Those in the OT had to look forward to Christ, we look back. The Exodus generation were saved when they passed through the Red Sea (Heb 11:29) ... Chapter 4 comes to mind, but I don't see salvation for the next generation. When we are saved we are set apart (sanctified). Hope this helps, Searcher |
