Subject: principles of the doctrine of christ |
Bible Note: Dear Joanna, Does this understanding help us to imptove our ministry towards others? When we have the privilege of bringing someone to Christ it seems they go through a stage of totally relying on us. There comes a time, the Father's appointed time (Gal 4:1-4), when we must let go of the role of mediator. There is only one mediator. (1 Tim 2:5) They are to be married to Him and let no man come between. Is this the interpretation of the parable of the unjust steward? (Luk 16) If he hangs onto his mediatory role, he 'wastes the Lord's goods.' He must share his anointing oil equally with all the Lord's debtors, enthroning the Christ in them, 'Sit down and write your own bill.' (vs 6) The wheat is shared on a five to four, the fivefold ministry of man (Eph 4:11 Gen 1:26) has to lose some of its authority. Two feedings of Christ, first five then four, one in groups, the next after following Christ for three days? Through the five pillars where the priests serve, then the four into God's light and glory? If we, like the steward, give up our followers to Him, He will commend us. (vs.8) Then He can stay in fellowship and still enter their houses. How many of fellowships break up today because of undue authority and power struggles over those the Lord wants to progress? Perhaps we have much to learn by 'going beyond the principles of the doctrines of Christ? Yours and His Paul |
