Bible Question: So then by participating in this, did I enter into an adulterous relationship? Was I correct in confronting the man with regards to my convictions? Because this is what I have done. Do I now need to end all contact with this person? Are there specific verses I can read to help me? Thanks you for a speedy and concise answer to my question. I am afraid I became emotionally entangled and my thinking was muddied. |
Bible Answer: Dear smallflower, I agree with Brother Doc. We have to be very careful on not letting Satan has his chance to tempt us. Based on what you have said, I would not consider that you had entered into an adulterous relationship (however only God knows your heart, you have to pray for enlightenment. "Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart." - Hebrew 4:12) but you might be risking yourself with the possibility of temptation. I remember few years ago, in a sermon, the pastor reminded us never to do any counselling or mentoring alone with cross gender. Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Since you are asking this question, it is apparently an alarm from the Holy Spirit. Submit yourself to the Holy Spirit. It is always advisable to acquaint with the same gender in your spiritual walk. Find yourself a mature sister in Christ, if not, at least a cell group to engage in. Remember the Lord's prayer? "...lead us not into temptation, deliver us from evil..." Shalom Azure |
