Bible Question: Would it be unbiblical for a married man who has an unbelieving wife to have a spiritual "relationship" with any single or married woman via the internet? Is that an adulterous relationship? Is there any biblical support for not engaging in this activity? I found myself in such a "relationship" that was spiritually nurturing with a man in such a position (an unbelieving wife with whom there was no spiritual relationship) and though he felt no wrong in it, I eventually felt there was something wrong with the situation, much as I enjoyed and even benefited from the experience of sharing spiritual things with him. God convicted me that I was in fact stealing from the wife of this man, in the sense of time spent with him and energy devoted to my understanding of God's word, my spiritual feeding...that this was meant for his wife, and not for me. God showed me that I needed to get that from a man who is my OWN husband , not him (I lost my husband recently) and he needed to find a way to give that to his own WIFE before trying to give that to any other woman. I would be interested to hear any thoughts on this question. |
Bible Answer: Hi, smallflower... Welcome to the forum! Notice the pastoral epistles. They give us clear direction regarding appropriate relationships. Men mentor men, and women mentor women. There are very good and practical reasons for such arrangements. In Him, Doc |
