Bible Question: What is meant by,work out your own salvation |
Bible Answer: Hello mommyolen, There are many verses in the word that point to how we should "work out our own salvation" or how to live after we are saved. Benjamite pointed out the correct passage in Phillipians that seems to be what you were referring to, but if you read on further in that chapter, it's partly explained. Phil 2 13) "for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. 14) Do all things without grumbling or disputing; 15) so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, 16) holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Give youself completely to Jesus, study, and meditate on the word. Now that we're saved, it's what we do with that great gift. Titus 3:8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men Love in Christ Barry |
