AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ezra 6:11 "I have also issued a decree that if there is any man who violates this edict, a beam of timber shall be pulled from his house [and set up]; then he shall be impaled on it, and his house shall be turned into a refuse heap for this [violation]. |

Bible Answer: After the fall of Babylon, a degree was given by Artaxerxes to rebuild the house of God at Jerusalem. Ezra 4:23 the work ceased. Ezra 5 mentions the prophets Haggi and Zechariah prophesing to the Jews about the building up which had stopped.Then Darius gets involved and finds a record Where Cyrus had made a decree concerning the house of God. Ezr 6:3 Then the work goes forth. Samaria wanted to be involved with the building and the children of the captivity said no. So,there was an endevor to hinder the work.Ezr.3.Also see the book of Nehemiah who came to the city to build the walls of the city. The Book of Ezra though short also is important in the understanding the prophesy Of Daniel and Revelations. |
