Bible Question: three levels of Christianity in Ephesians |
Bible Answer: Hi, Lynzy... Welcome to the forum! This question keeps popping up, expressed in exactly the same way. I suspect it is coming out of some class somewhere. Ephesians does not categorize Christians. You probably have a teacher that is trying to make some kind of distinction from the imperatives out of the last three chapters of the book. That is a common problem, because so many popular bible "teachers" have failed to deal with the doctrine in the first three chapters. If the commands in the second half are not rooted in the teaching of the first half, all you end up with is a kind of moralism, a far cry from Paul's intention. In Him, Doc PS By the way, the only three categories of Christians that I can think of in all the rest of Scripture is alive, dead, and resurrected/glorified. |
