Subject: With Fear and Trembleing |
Bible Note: Dear dispn4ever, You asked, "...does it say otherwise?" Let me state it more clearly: It isn't so much what Greenwood says as what he fails to say. To be sure, Greenwood cites dozens of individual Scripture passages. Yet it is very telling that none of those passages cited are from Ephesians itself! Greenwood's fixation on "envisioning" each and every imagined component of the Paul's armor metaphor, leaves him completely ignoring its context! Astounding that he expect to interpret the Holy Spirit's intent while ignoring everything that He says leading up to that point! Now, how can we possibly adopt as appropriate normative behavior, something drawn out of such shoddy exegesis? (See post #158836.) Sorry, dispen... Our forum explicitly presupposes the doctrine of sola Scriptura... a doctrine that includes the importance of context. Like the A1 commercial says, "Yeah. It's that important." In Him, Doc |
