Bible Question:
I don't understand why God created the Law, if it was a curse? Galatians 3:10 All who rely on observing the law are under a curse, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Does that mean God set people up to fail? Galatains 3;21-22 Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law. 22 But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. If Jesus was the only person who entered heaven through the law, why was the law created? How then could anyone be righteous? I do not understand this chapter and it doesn't seem to make since. I keep going in circles. Please do not right the answer is clear. Positive people only. |
Bible Answer: Hello journey_me, God did not set up anyone to fail. Rather the Law pointed out their failings. They are doomed to fail if any try to be righteous by keeping the Law. The only way to be righteous is by faith (Gal 3:11). The Law was created to bring us to Christ (Gal 3:23-26). Steve |
