Bible Question:
jeremiah 23 34As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. I'm a women and would like to speak in Church, This sounds like I should not. What if I'm not married? |
Bible Answer: Yes it does say that a women should not speak in church in 1 Corinthians. However, you must understand the whole of each book and the background of it. The church of Corinth was in major disorder etc. Their were many problems. Women were most likely out of control and running their mouths. All kinds of worldy things were allowed into the church and Paul was sent their to "straighten them out" and put them back on the right track. I would suggest buying a commentary on the bible and this would help you greatly in your studies. Matthew Henry has one on the whole bible which is great. Remember to pray over your time in the Word and ask the Lord to give you wisdom and understanding as you read His word. Remember to rightly divide those scriptures. Also remember that if God used a donkey to speak out His word that He can and will use anyone that will allow Him too. |
