Bible Question: I have to tell a group of children of 8 to 12 about Holy Spirit (with reference to Chapter 1 of Apostle) in the coming Sunday. But I find it difficult how to explain Holy Spirit to them. Please enlighten me. Any short story about Holy Spirit is also welcome. |
Bible Answer: What book of the bible? Acts? Explain to them "how" the Holy Spirit now lives in us because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And that He promised a comforter (one who comes along side of)for the disciples because Jesus had to go prepare a place for us. So He gave us the Holy Spirit to be our helper, to let us know when we are about to make a bad choice. Ask them if their friends ever wanted to do something that was wrong, mean or the like ( If you don't steal this gum, you won't be my friend kind of thing). Then ask them how they felt when they had to make a decision. Did it seem like someone in their heart was telling them no? And explain to them that the Holy Spirit is our helper. He helps us to be able to say no to sin and to obey Jesus. |
