Bible Question: this question really doesnt pertain to the bible per say as its a question that i really havent found an answer to without it being extremely crude or mean. ive recently found god through a wonderful friend and have started reading the bible starting with the book of mark. anyways, why do jewish people hate jesus so much, i mean jesus did so many great things for them and even he was of jewish decent even though he was the son of god, maybe im wrong but this is something that has been bothering me for a while now. and i would really like insight to it |
Bible Answer: Hi, BornAgain85... Welcome to the forum! When I was a little boy, I asked my Rabbi who Jesus was. He hit me and told me never to speak that name again. Everyone who God has not been regenerated has a hatred for Him (John 17:14; James 4:4). Everyone would love to point to something and say, "That is the greatest evil that exists!" Christ points to each human heart and says, "That is the greatest evil that exists!" (Matthew 15:16-20) This stirs up rage, especially among those who think of themselves as more righteous and moral than other men. I think that you will find the best explanation for the animosity of the Jew for Christ in John 8. If you get that chapter down pat, what you see in our own day will no longer be a mystery.
