Bible Question: I'm curious about the passage from Mark 11:12-26. In verses 12 through 14, it sounds as if Jesus curses the fig tree because He was hungry and the tree did not yet have figs. Later on, when Peter notices that the tree has withered, it appears that Jesus is using this example to teach the disciples about the power of faith. But, I wonder, why didn't Jesus just command the tree to bear figs instead of cursing it? |
Bible Answer: The tree symbolizes the ministry and any ministry not bearing friut (people for God)is brought to distruction (Luke3:9) |
