Bible Question: Why is there no genealogy in the book of Mark? |
Bible Answer: Dear Marlise, Arguably this is because Mark's readers, as gentiles, were less concnerned about Jesus lineage than others. Remember, the gospels should be thought of as sermons, presenting facts about Jesus' life and ministry in order to convey a primary point. Any good preacher takes into account to whom he is preaching. This is one of the many reasons that the gospels form a unique literary genre. In Him, Doc |
