Bible Question: what is ment by liveing the grater law |
Bible Answer: Greetings sporty! I'm not sure exactly sure as to what you are asking.. Your question was: "what is ment by liveing the grater law"? Also, you cited Matthew as a book. In citing Matthew, either your question is about the book of Matthew, or you believe that your answer can be found in the book of Matthew. Either way, lets look at the book of Matthew. As for "living the greater law" is concerned, Matthew does say something about the 'great commandment in the Law'.. I hope that by reciting the verses in Matthew that speak of the 'great commandment in the Law', we can hope to better answer your question. The verses that speak of this "great commandment" in Matthew are as follows: Matthew 22:35-40 "One of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, 'Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?' And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets." Sporty, I hope that what I've written begins to answer your question. If not, then I would suggest that you would be a little more specific and/or descriptive in your questions. You gave me little to go on, but I gave it a shot. :) - Nolan |
