Bible Question: When I pray at night, I'm not sure of what to say to the Lord. Please Help. |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Matt 6:5-15, Luke 11:1-13 ... flowerforlife, greetings. Hank and sandrider have good ideas. The key in the prayer is the name. The Jews used many names when they prayed ... it may of been to get something. Jesus used the name Father, which is not the same as Daddy, tho the two have been used together (Mark 14:36). The passage in Luke continues what a father gives. In Matthew we are told how not to pray and an exmaple of prayer ... so these words are not just to be repeated, but they are an outline, you add your words. Don't try to copy anyone. The best prayers are those simple ones. Think about how God is our Father ... see that the prayer does not say my. How are you going to do His will, see His kingdom come ... write a journal of your thoughts on these. Also, include your requests ... and how He answered them - no, yes, wait. Never stop thanking Him for the answers. Hope this helps, Searcher |
