Bible Question: In the book of Matthew 21: 28-31 Jesus tells the story of the two sons and then in versus 31-32 he gives an explanation. Could you explain the meaning of this story? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, The parable represents many self-righteous, even religious people who today join churches and call themselves Christians, but who in truth refuse to obey God. They refuse to believe in Jesus, to follow Christ's leading, and they refuse to take up His cross to live a life of complete identification with Him. In the end they may find that complete gross sinners, such as the prostitutes and the tax collectors, who have humbly repented and received Christ, are accepted, whereas the self-righteous, who have lived outwardly moral lives are excluded because they basically refused obedience to God's conditions for salvation as revealed through Christ. prayon |
