AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Chronicles 32:31 And so in the matter of the envoys of the rulers of Babylon, who were sent to him to inquire about the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him alone only to test him, in order to know everything that was in his heart. [Is 39:1-7] |
Subject: The sign seen by the Babylonians |
Bible Note: The Sign seen by the Babylonian envoys Another thing I have been looking into was the "sign" spoken of by the Babylonian envoys in 2 Chronicles 32:31, and I've concluded that the sign must have been a widely witnessed celestial event - the same event spoken of in Isaiah 38:8 and 2 Kings 20:9-11. Since the Babylonians noticed it, it had to be something that affected the earth as a whole, much like the 'event' in Joshua 10:12-14. It is of no coincidence then, that such a celestial event will occur again (Joel 2:31-32; Matthew 24:29-31). --Makarios |
